Our client is a manufacturer and marketer of specialty, fun, convenient, snack foods. Their primary products include shelf stable dips, cheese sauces, salsa con queso, cheese spreads, and other specialty snack cheeses.
The RD/Food Scientist position is directly responsible for product formulation, testing and evaluation. The person will be an active member of the New Product Development Team and work regularly with sales staff, management, and customers.
The candidate must have significant experience formulating shelf stable processed food products. The candidate should have a proven track record of successfully taking products from RD to commercialization. Processed cheese, retort, or other dairy formulating a plus.
Other experience in production or QA helpful.
The RD/Food Scientist position is responsible for all facets of quality, micro and food safety, regulatory compliance, and 3rd party audits and accreditation. The successful candidate will directly oversee the lab/QC staff and sanitation staff, as well being responsible for plant wide GMP, HACCP and other food safety or quality training.
